Consider this a public service announcement — the Tippler’s Tap crew will be slinging free wings all day at their Grand Opening in South Bank tomorrow.

The popular Brisbane craft beer bar closed its Newstead venue on 19 December (the building is due for demolition) and announced its relocation to South Bank, taking the space formerly occupied by sister venue Tomahawk Bar (which closed permanently on 23 December).

In order to break in the new venue, the Tippler’s Tap Grand Opening will be held tomorrow (Tuesday 19 December) in South Bank from midday to 10pm, with free wings all day, $2 tacos from 5pm and the popular Cards Against Humanity game available to borrow from the bar, continuing a tradition from the bar’s Newstead days.

“We never set out to be an ‘American food’ restaurant or a ‘craft beer bar’,” owner Brian Kennedy told Brews News back in December.

“We just wanted to create a place where people could come alone, as couples, with kids, or as groups of friends to hang out and feel at home. It just so happens that I grew up outside of Chicago and want to offer the sort of food I grew up with, and [my partner] Emily and I really like good beer.

“With the relocation of Tippler’s Tap, we intend to focus on exactly that, and hope that other folks that like their beer and food will come, hang out, and contribute to the ‘vibe’.”

Truth be told, we don’t have much to add here — Tippler’s Tap is a great bar, their wings are great, and therefore, it stands to reason that free wings at Tippler’s Tap is a very good thing.

Tippler’s Tap is located at 5/182 Grey St, South Brisbane.
