There’s a new bar in town that will have you reaching for the stars.

Eleven Rooftop Bar is on the eleventh floor of a rather ordinary-looking office block in the Valley. Don’t let the plain lobby of the building fool you though; up top is a party oasis.

With a 270 degree view overlooking the Story Bridge, the city and even providing glimpses of Mt Coot-tha, the view at Eleven is really something to behold, preferably while holding a beverage of choice.

A full cocktail list if on offer, with Eleven classics including a Tall Violet with Absolut Citrus, Lillet Blanc, violette liqueur, lime and soda. There’s also an Old Klin made on Ardberg 10 Islay Single Malt Scotch, Aperol, Dolin Sweet and vermouth.

Wine and champagne is available by the glass and the bottle, with a mix of both local and international drops available.

An array of premium boutique beers are also on offer, with brews from Murrays in NSW, Noisy Minor in Queensland, and Little Creatures in Western Australia.

To ensure all of this doesn’t get to your head, a small-plate menu is available all day, while more substantial lunch and dinner menus are also on offer.

All-day grazing includes curried meatballs with coconut raita, or Szechuan dusted baby squid with a preserved lemon salsa.

For lunch or dinner, we like the scallops, which are lightly seared and served with potato gnocchi, soused currants, sage noisette and almonds. There was a lovely nutty flavour to this dish which added a nice earthy richness to the fresh scallops.

The crispy quail is also a winner, served up with a mildly spicy chimmi churri and a smooth cauliflower puree.

As a side, it’s hard to go past the decadent the truffled macaroni and cheese, made with an aged cheddar and black truffles.

For dessert, choose from the rooftop honey and figs with a ginger and lime panna cotta, or there’s also a sticky date pudding with butterscotch caramel and candied orange.

Eleven Rooftop Bar is on 757 Ann St in Fortitude Valley, and is open Tuesday to Sunday for lunch, dinner and drinks.
