The Shafston Hotel is set to transform its laneway into a street festival of epic proportions this September, featuring craft beers, boutique wines, food trucks and groovy tunes.

Held on Saturday 5 September, the Hops and Vines Festival at the Shafston Hotel celebrates the arrival of spring and showcases the best local beer, wine and gourmet food around.

If you’re a foodie, a wine and cheese lover or just love a nice cold beer, this is the festival for you!

From 11am in the laneway, you’ll get to sniff and sip some great local boutique wine brands including Tin Shed, Wirra Wirra, Deviation Road and St Clair.

For $10 a ticket festival goers will actually receive a unique festival wine glass and be able to fill it with two wines on arrival.

Some of the region’s best craft beer brewers will also be setting up tents and taps in the laneways, quenching the thirst of hundreds of beer lovers. Among the brews on offer will be local favourites Green Beacon, Stone and Wood and Newstead Brewing.

If you’re more interested in dining than wining, keep your hunger pains at bay with delicious snacks and meals from Brisbane’s best gourmet food trucks including Koma Sliders, Mangia Mangia, Gourmet HotDogz and The Bone Lorry.

And no wine festival will be complete without cheese! Keep a look out for gourmet cheese vendors like The Cheese Pleaser, providing platters to pair with your favourite drops.

The Hops and Vines Festival will also see a range of live performances and entertainment by local musical talents, Tyrone Noonan Band, Fader, Mason Rack Band, The Hayden Hack Infusion and Willy Angelo. So, sit back and enjoy the tunes, wine in hand.

Festival goers will even get the chance to win a wine lovers getaway on the day, including flights to the Barossa Valley, accommodation for two and plenty of time to explore the local wineries. Get your entry on the day to be in the draw.

Don’t miss the Hops and Vines Festival on Saturday 5 September at The Shafston Hotel, located on the corner of Wellington Road and Lytton Road, East Brisbane.
