A new café has popped-up in Clayfield whose crowning achievement is serving up coffee in the form of iced popsicles.
Queen of Pops has transformed a hole-in-the-wall location into a very funky area to chill with some frozen coffee on a stick.
Coffee popsicles include a café latte pop, long black pop, cappuccino pop, hot mocha pop and a hot chocolate pop.
We tried out a chai latte pop which was packed full of aromatic cinnamon and cardamom flavours, just like a decadent chai latte should be.
Made from real tea, this popsicle had no artificial flavouring in it whatsoever, making me feel like I was being virtuous in my choice of afternoon treat for the day.
Queen of Pops also offers nitro cold brew coffees, which have been hit with high pressure nitrogen to create a frothy iced coffee that is very moreish.
For tea drinkers, there is also a nitro cold brew tea available as well.
If you feel it’s a bit too cold for popsicles or nitro coffee, Queen of Pops also offers plain old normal coffees and teas.
It’s not just about quirky forms of coffee here though; you can also grab a bite to eat as well.
Menu items include a bacon, egg and cheddar bagel; or a chicken, cream cheese, aioli and rocket toasted sandwich.
There are also lighter items available such as banana bread with a cinnamon dusting, or a toasted blueberry bagel with house made raspberry cream cheese.
For a quick sugar hit, the front counter also houses an abundance of freshly baked sweet treats.
The outside picnic area features hanging plants, a white picket fence and artificial grass, creating a picturesque area to nibble away on something tasty. A basket of blankets is also on hand for the cooler months.
Queen of Pops has popped up on the corner of Bayview Tce and Drane St in Clayfield, and is open until 4pm Monday to Friday, and until 1pm on Saturday.
