Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge will be transformed into an incredible food market for just one day, to celebrate its 75th birthday on 5 July.

The bridge will be closed for the celebration, allowing the popular Eat Street Markets to move in. The markets will bring over 80 food vendors, 20 food trucks and four band stages to the celebrations.

The markets will be held from 11am until 4pm, offering a wide range of delicious international cuisines to try including French, USA BBQ, Indian, Mexican and heaps more. There will also be live entertainment and street performances.

Construction on the Story Bridge first started back in 1935, and took five years to complete. Today, the bridge is used by more than 30 million cars, cyclists and pedestrians every year .

It costs Brisbane City Council more than $50,000 each time they close the bridge, so council allow for only four events to be held on it, a year.

Being that it is the Story Bridge’s birthday and all, we’re sure that this event is definitely worth it.

The event is set to very be popular so you will need to register to attend.
