Kiss The Berry is taking Açaí to another level. Rapidly expanding into their second store, KTB is all about teaching everyone how to live a healthy, passionate and happy life via the magic of the Açaí berry .

Starting back in July 2013 selling smoothies and Açaí bowls from a market stall, Kiss The Berry has expanded rapidly. Now with locations in the Brisbane CBD and at South Bank, co-creators Sarah Miller and Keziah Bossley look like delivering on their dream much faster than expected.

The main idea behind Kiss The Berry is to celebrate the power of the Açaí berry. Within the nutritional pulp and skin of the Açaí berry is a host of antioxidants, amino acids, fibre, essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals which makes it a near perfect energising fruit. The skyrocketing rise in popularity of Açaí is mainly due to the hype around its very high concentration of antioxidants. And we all know the power of antioxidants, right?

Well, they are molecules that prevent the oxidation of other molecules. Oxidation produces free radicals which can damage the cells and glands within our bodies making us more prone to disease and ageing. Since no one wants to get sick or to get old, having a diet rich in antioxidants can be helpful in preventing these.

So it makes sense that since Açaí has been recognised as one of the world’s highest ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity) foods, people are clamouring for it’s rejuvenating qualities. These savvy ladies realised this and have brought the people what they want – delicious tasting, healthy treats that will do as much good on the inside as they look on the outside.

The menu is full of mouthwatering choices with Açaí bowls, smoothies, coffee (both hot and bottled cold press options) and quick grab-and-go snacks.

They also offer a raw cacao mocha or hot chocolate and have regular, almond and soy milks available.

The store is open and breezy with a simplicity that is very appealing. Add in a plant wall, framed quotes and small succulents dotted about on tables and you may never feel like leaving. Especially when you look out over the gardens at South Bank and it feels like you’ve stumbled into a tropical paradise (that makes smoothies on demand).

Open from 9am-3pm every day, Kiss The Berry can be found at Shop 65 in the ABC Building, 114 Grey Street, South Brisbane.
