Brisbane now has a taste of The Big Apple with New York Brew Company setting up shop and unveiling a menu of Americanized treats.

Start spreading the news, New York Brew Company has arrived in Brisbane.

If you’ve ever yearned to visit the Big Apple, but haven’t managed to make the trip yet, you can comfort yourself with the knowledge that your taste buds are in for a big city treat.

There’s plenty on offer from the inventive menu, but if you’re looking for something tasty with a twist you can’t go past the Pretzel Dogs. There’s an old skool frankfurter version with ketchup , cheese and roasted onions, a bratwurst option with bacon jam, slaw and roasted onions and for the non-meat eaters out there a crispy marinated tofu option is also on the menu and comes with cucumber and kim chi salad.

Pretzel Dogs are served on a tasty Pretzel Roll, which is beautifully brown on the outside and soft and warm on the inside.

If you’re not in a Pretzel Dog frame of mind, you can instead chose to feast on a Pretzel Burger. There’s the NY Brew Burger that comes with a fresh ground beef patty, cheese, tomato, lettuce and ketchup, the BBQ burger with miso eggplant, red pepper salsa, yoghurt, cucumber, tomato and rocket and the classic Brooklyn Beef & Bacon Burger.

For dessert you can’t go past the Choc Chilli Brownie coconut ice cream, caramel sauce, choc chips or the NY Cheesecake Sandwich baked lemon cheesecake sandwiched between puff pastry wafers with fresh berries and cream.

You’d also better put your drinking shoes on, because the venue will be serving up a hand picked selection of the finest local craft and imported beers and high quality cocktails that would be equally at home in SOHO, Tribeca or the East Village in New York.

New York Brew Company has taken up residence in the ground corner of the historic TCB building in the Brunswick Street Mall , a venue that owner Todd McGregor says alreday had a touch of New York flavor.

“The menu is based around classic New York street food, but served in a restaurant setting,” he said. “We’ve created a sophisticated venue of class and distinction that takes the best elements of what New York offers and put a Brisbane twist on it.”

With the appointment of creative Head Chef Adam Clements, previously of the Story Bridge (Deery’s Restaurant & Smokehouse), The Regatta (The Boatshed) the menu had been designed to complement Queensland produce and deliver an experience that is unpretentious and true to its roots.
