Are you up to sampling the funkiest, sourest and most refreshing beers from Australia and around the world? Then you’ll want to head to this special two day event.
Scratch Bar’s inaugural Weekend of Tartness — the natural follow-up to July’s Weekend of Darkness — is set to go off on Saturday 6 December and Sunday 7 December and you’re invited to join in the fun.
The event is set to be two days of nothing but tasting the funkiest, sourest and most refreshing beers from Australia and around the world. The beers have been sourced from throughout the country, including some great brews from local Brisbane brewers Bacchus, Newstead and Croft.
Some special international sours will also pop their heads up during the weekend, including drops from Garage Project (NZ), Rodenbach (BEL) and Sierra Nevada (USA).
But if all this sounds too much for the unseasoned drinker, fear not — a number of taps will also feature specialty cider and some entry level beer options. Throw in lots of summery fun, bad hair, fluoro, delicious food and a bevy of pop hits and you’ve got yourself a great weekend.
Beerkary Bakery will also be there to match the sour beers with baked goods, including a Randy cherry tartnand Beerclair, as well as open pork, cheese and fish sandwiches.
The Scratch Bar is going all out for this one-of-a-kind event and the entry is free during the two-day fiesta.
