Buffalo Bar is taking over the space formerly occupied by The Belgian Beer Cafe, bringing authentic American food, drink and culture to Brisbane’s food scene. And to celebrate Thanksgiving, Buffalo Bar are offering free wings for all on Thursday November 27.
Located in Brisbane’s hustling inner-city, Buffalo Bar has set up shop where iconic The Belgian Beer Cafe used to be and reimagined the iconic heritage-listed building.
The Belgian Beer Cafe had a ten-year tenure on the corner of Mary and Edward Street, leaving the Buffalo Bar with big shoes to fill. They’re offering a new spin on traditional Americana that sees the space encompass a whiskey lounge, sit-down dining hall and craft beer garden, all thanks to the work of interior designer Kati Watkinson (from Nicole Weston Architect).
Opening in true US style the day before Thanksgiving on Wednesday 26 November, the venue looks like being one of the first choices for Christmas festivities if you’re looking for a flavour hit. The team behind Fortitude Valley’s Mighty Mighty cue & brew, led by owner Simon O’Brien, are bringing their experience, expertise and enthusiasm for American culture to Buffalo Bar.
Group Head Chef Adam Herbert is running the Buffalo Bar kitchen and hopes to interest a variety of folks in the new venue. “We’ve got a really approachable menu going, from hoagies at lunch, 18 signature styles of buffalo wings and more on our bar menu, to American ‘from the grill’ favourites, slow-cooked brisket, and some button-popping decadent desserts — there’s something for everyone’s taste”.
If you’re not already drooling, then something is wrong with you. And if you’re free between 12noon and 4pm on Thursday November 27, get yourself down to Buffalo Bar to sample their 18 flavours of wings FOR FREE.
And to help wash it all down, you can choose from more than 25 taps of American beer, specialty cocktails, and a huge selection of American whiskeys.
Opening Wednesday November 26, Buffalo Bar is located on the corner of Mary and Edward streets in Brisbane’s CBD. But if you’re looking for some delicious free wings, pop by as they celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday November 27 between 12noon-4pm.
