Brisbane foodies, get ready to enter heaven! The Good Food & Wine Show is on this weekend and we’ve rounded up five things you just can’t miss.
Cheese Alley by Tucker’s Natural
Cows, goats, water buffalos, we love them all for their contribution to… cheese. Glorious cheese.
Make your way through the Good Food & Wine Show’s cheese tasting extravaganza this weekend and you’ll love them too. Show organisers have brought together boutique cheese makers, together with producers of some of Australia’s widely-available cheeses, so that you can participate in cheese tasting and ask the producers about each cheese’s unique flavour, preparation and inputs.
With cheese tasting available from regions all over Australia, you’re sure to find your new favourite.
Are you a fan of macarons? Then you’ll want to take part in this sweet treat.
During the Good Food & Wine Show you can learn the secrets behind Adriano Zumbo’s famed Zumbarons in this two hour, hands-on masterclass bought to you by Kenwood. Adriano will take you through the step-by-step process to create his highly acclaimed Zumbarons. He will pass on all the required tips and tricks you will need to master the sweet delicacies, so you’ll be impressing friends and family at home in no time!
A recipe card, apron and refreshments will be provided, so the only thing you need to bring is an appetite for the sweet life. You will take home a selection of your delicious creations at the conclusion of the class. Each guest will receive a gift bag to take home valued at $99.95 including an apron, oven-mitt, tea towel, Adriano Zumbo Macaron Kit and special offers.
Taste testing with the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre
A lot of delicious produce comes from the Lockyer Valley and now is your chance to sample some of that deliciousness. The good people from the region’s cultural centre will be on hand to dole out some fresh local produce from the area and a tempting Thai chicken salad, using fresh local ingredients from the Lockyer Valley, will be for sale. There will also be cooking demonstrations, taste testing and talks with producers. So if you need any help planning a weekend foodie retreat to the Lockyer Valley, these are your people.
Sweet and savoury chilli chocolate
Seatonfire Chilli will be at the show to give you a new appreciation for chocolate. Seductive, sensual and satisfying, Seatonfire claim to make Australia’s only quality chilli chocolate and they have a range of condiments and jams that they sell exclusively at shows. Seatonfire chilli chocolate will be available for testing, along with liquorice and lime chilli chocolate that is infused with aniseed and sprinkled with lime peel. Rated an 8/10 for heat, it has a 57 per cent minimum Belgian couverture, sourced from Madagascar.
