Matching beer and whisky is an art. Pairing this combination with a five course meal? A masterpiece.

The Elephant Hotel’s Hops, Barrel & Grain event is billed as a master class for those who aren’t afraid of big flavours, smooth whisky and hand crafted local beer.

The event’s first instalment was recently held in Sydney with hosts Dan Hampton (from Newtown brewery Young Henrys) and “whisky guru” James Buntin, and now it’s Brisbane’s turn.

The Glenfiddich Single Malt Whisky range will be combined with hand crafted beers and ciders from Young Henrys brewery and a five-course meal designed by Elephant Hotel head chef Joshua Johnson.

Dan and James will be on hand to guide guests through the layers of flavour in each beer and whisky in an entertaining and informative way.

Hops, Barrel & Grain will be held at The Elephant Hotel (230 Wickham St, Fortitude Valley) on Tuesday 29 July from 7pm.
