Fall down the rabbit hole into this Fortitude Valley den of treats.

On a cold winter’s night, there is no place better to cuddle up and keep warm in than Laruche Bar.

This decadent Fortitude Valley bar draws Brisbane socialites to its location like honey draws bees and this season is no exception. The decor is a darkly tinged scene from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, but a little less Disney and a lot more Guillermo del Toro. High backed chairs scatter the lower floor, peacock feathers adorn the walls and the bar’s main chandelier looks like it should have a hallucinating caterpillar lounging next to it.

Laruche recently unveiled their new winter menu and have supplied a range of dishes that may as well be labelled ‘eat me’. You can start with warm ciabatta, whipped butter, kelp salt, olive oil and a selection of aged cured meats including salami caperi, sobrassada and prosciutto.Since it’s getting colder you might want to keep yourself warm and cozy up to a friend with a share platter. Share platters include spiced chicken skewers with peanut satay, chickpea, Thai chicken, and Angus beef sliders and slow braised pork belly and chilli and pomegranate marinated lamb skewers with mint yoghurt.

If you’re in the mood for something sweet, the dessert menu includes chocolate brownies with fresh berries and Italian meringue or chocolate caramel tart with crème Chantilly.
