Brisbane’s Paniyiri Greek Festival, taking place on May 24 and 25 throughout West End and South Bank, has inspired venues such as Pony Dining and the Eat Street Markets to serve up some authentic Mediterranean cuisine.
Although the festival is still a few weeks away, for the full month of May, enjoy some Greek treats and Paniyiri specials at the following venues:
Watt Restaurant and Bar
Kleftico lamb shoulder, confit garlic oregano mash & grilled whole shallots paired with a glass of house red wine. $35

- Barbecued octopus, marinated in their special Five Sisters marinate of Greek herbs, lemon and olive oil, and served with tzatziki, $12 a serve.
- Yiros $12 – Greek pita bread with tzatziki and tabouli with either homemade haloumi, octopus, chicken or lamb.
- Haloumi grilled with lemon and served with tzatziki, garlic and cucumber, $5.00 for two pieces.
- Honey puffs – traditional, homemade dough with their special vanilla and clove syrup $6 small or $10 large plate.
- Baklava – homemade with almonds and spices and their special vanilla and clove syrup $4.00 for one piece or $7 for two pieces.
