The social media sensation and superfood açai has found an exclusive home in a Brisbane City bar.

Açai-addicts warmly welcomed the recent opening of Kiss the Berry açai bar in the CBD, which intends to serve the superfood to the masses.

Kiss the Berry began serving açai at the Sunday Eagle Farm Markets, and after great success, opened a health food bar on Creek Street in the city.

However if you’re a bit behind the eight-ball, you may be wondering what açai actually is?

Açai (pronounced ah-sah-ee) is a small purple berry from the Amazon rainforest considered to be one of the world’s most nutritious foods.

The berries are low in sugar, super rich in antioxidants and minerals, contain 19 different amino acids, as well as high levels of dietary fibre and essential fatty acids.

However for such a nutritious food, it’s also unbelievably delicious, especially when blended with juice and topped with fresh fruit and granola.

Kiss the Berry have designed a menu of carefully-crafted açai bowls and smoothies:
