After dominating the Australian bestseller lists, Masterchef’s Poh Ling Yeow returns to Brisbane for the launch of her long-awaited second book.
Masterchef 2009 runner-up Poh Ling Yeow can be found at West End’s Rumpus Room on 13 May for the launch of her new cookbook Same Same But Different.
Same Same But Different is the follow-up to Poh’s Kitchen – My Cooking Adventures, which remained on Australia’s top 10 bestseller list for more than six weeks.
Poh will be discussing details of the book with Rumpus Room’s Kasia Janczewski, including her goal to inspire people by urging them to use familiar ingredients.
The new cookbook contains 100 delicious recipes that are organised into pairs through a shared common process, ingredient or texture.
For example, to satisfy a ‘yummy curry’ craving, Poh provides both a Pineapple Curry and a Beef Rendang recipe.
Since Masterchef, Poh has also appeared on her own ABC TV show Poh’s Kitchen, where she cooks up Chinese-Malaysian specialities alongside a slew of celebrity chefs.
The 35-year-old Adelaide-local also dabbles in art part-time.
