Inspired by the recent hot weather, we visited The Jetty South Bank to road-test its new cocktail menu.

Although there’s only a few weeks of summer left, the flavours of the season will live on at The Jetty South Bank, through its new cocktail menu.

Tracey Rayner, spokesperson for The Jetty, says the new menu incorporates fresh lychees, passionfruit, watermelon, pineapple and summer berries.

“It’s a combination of vibrantly fresh flavours, and colours that signify summer by the water,” says Rayner.

The cocktail list was created by bar manager, Shane Baker, in collaboration with leading bartender, Caleb Johansen, and includes:

Advise The Medics: mixed summer fruits, Sailor Jerry spiced rum, Ketel One vodka, pineapple and apple juice, and sparkling wines (pictured above).

Perfect Summer: Midori, fresh passionfruit, vodka, lemon, lime and pineapple (pictured above).

Brambled High Tea: Ketel One Vodka, crème de cassis de Dijon, blueberries, mint, lime and topped with soda.

Scarlett Darling: gin, fresh watermelon, Chambord, cucumber, mint and line.

Rendezvous: Aperol, Cointreau, fresh orange juice, served spritzer style with sparkling wine.

The cocktails are designed to be enjoyed in the alfresco courtyard, situated on the South Bank boulevard overlooking Brisbane River and the city.

“This is our third summer since opening in 2011, and whilst it was busy, we’ve been able to find our rhythm in terms of food style, as well as getting to know our clientele,” says Rayner.

After the success of its White Party, which welcomed in the New Year, The Jetty has planned plenty more for this year’s agenda.

“For the first half of 2014, we’ll be keeping in theme with the Indonesian-inspired, modern Australian fare we’ve become known for, but we’re looking towards an injection of exciting dishes from different regions of south-east Asia.”

“With events such as Regional Flavours and Brisbane Festival on the South Bank calendar once again, the second half of the year is already looking like a lot of fun!”
