It’s a long weekend! Three days to soak up the sunshine, party and/or enjoy some much-needed relaxation – but why not do it with a delicious home-made cocktail?
If you’re thirsty for something refreshing today, there is a cocktail to sip on for all taste-buds below.
The Original Earl Grey Martini
Ingredients:
- 1 tsp Dilmah Earl Grey tea leaves
- Tanqueray 10 Gin
- White sugar, for the rim
- 1 wedge of lemon
- 1 ½ ounces fresh lemon juice
- 2 ounces of sugar syrup
Method:
- Sprinkle the tea leaves over the gin in a small glass and set aside for two hours
- Pour ¼ to ½ inch of white sugar onto a small, shallow plate. Moisten the rim of the martini glass with a wedge of lemon and dip into the sugar, set aside.
- Strain the infused gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker over ice. Stir 10 times and strain into the rimmed glass
- Garnish with burnt orange peel
Dilmah Vodka Orange
Ingredients:
- 230ml Dilmah Orange & Ginger Tea
- ½ teaspoon lemon juice
- 50ml Sugar syrup
- 60ml Vodka
- Crushed Ice
Method:
- Brew the tea for 3 minutes, strain and chill in the fridge
- Divide the tea into two glasses
- Add crushed ice, fruit of your choice, sugar syrup, lemon juice, vodka and stir
Green Tea Wonder
Ingredients:
- 125ml of Dilmah Green Tea with Lemongrass and Lemon
- Slices of cucumber
- 2 barspoons of cardamom sugar
Method:
- Dissolve the cardamom sugar into the freshly brewed tea and leave to chill
- Fill a glass with ice cubes and slices of cucumber and lime
- Gently pour the tea over the ice and garnish with lime, cucumber and mint.
Memories
Ingredients:
- 100ml Dilmah Green Tea Moroccan Mint
- 50ml Dilmah English Breakfast Tea
- 20ml Vodka
- 10ml Triple Sec
- 15ml Lemon Juice
- 20ml Sugar
Method:
- Brew the teas seperately, strain and leave to cool
- Add all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake well.
- Poor over ice and serve
Dilmah Gold
Ingredients:
- 75ml Dilmah English Afternoon Tea
- 25ml Bacardi Gold
- 25ml Sugar Syrup
- Crushed Ice
Method:
- Infuse tea in boiling water for three minutes
- Put the crushed ice into a cocktail shaker, add the tea and Bacardi
- Shake well and serve in a martini glass with a slice of strawberry to garnish
Moroccan Mint Mojito
Ingredients:
- 90ml Dilmah Green Tea Moroccan Mint
- 30ml White Rum
- 15ml Lime Juice
- 15ml Sugar Syrup
- Mint Leaves
- Crushed Ice
Method:
- Brew the tea, strain and leave to cool
- Muddle the mint leaves
- Mix all the ingredients together and serve in an ice filled glass
- Garnish with mint leaves and a slice of lime
Tequila Oolong
Ingredients:
- 60ml Dilmah t-series The First Ceylon Oolong
- 30ml Tequila
- 10ml Martini Bianco
Method:
- Brew 2g of tea in 100ml of water for five minutes and strain
- Pour the ingredients and a few ice cubes into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 8-10 seconds
- Pour over a glass of ice and serve
Apple Sensation
Ingredients:
- 75ml of Dilmah Apple Tea
- 25ml Red Rum
- 10ml apple liqueur
- 2 teaspoons of brown sugar
Method:
- Brew the tea, strain and leave to cool
- Pour all the ingredients, with the exception of the brown sugar, with a few cubes of ice into a cocktail shaker
- Shake vigorously for eight seconds
- And 2 teaspoons of brown sugar and stir
- Poor into a martini glass and garnish with sliced apple and sugar around the rim of the glass
