Brent’s Restaurant, will serve its last meal in December, but will evolve into a new venue in the new year.

The Brisbane dining institution has been around for more than eight years and was made famous for its somewhat different style of modern French cuisine, but Chef Owner Brent Farrell has announced the decision to evolve the much loved restaurant to make way for a new venue, 85 Miskin St.

Farrell says 85 Miskin St will embrace interesting flavours and styles from different parts of the world and will be a more contemporary, earthier and slightly edgy diner.

“I would like to thank everyone who has supported the Brent’s journey. For nearly a decade, every day I have woken up and cooked for my customers and it has never been a chore. I want to share my love of food with more people, more often and this new style of venue will allow me to do that.

“My vision for 85 Miskin St is a comfortable, approachable and inviting place where people will come together to share great tasting exciting food and a drinks list with a quirky approach. It will move away from the traditional entree, main and desserts format to embrace a model of dining where the guest determines how they would like to eat from the menu,” Farrell says.

The menu is set to capture the changing seasons on the plate with fresh produce picked daily from the markets and from Farrell’s garden at the rear of the restaurant.

The venue is slated for refurbishment in January and will reopen as 85 Miskin St in Toowong from the end of January.

The last meal will be served on 24 December, will you be visiting the restaurant before it closes its doors?
