Brisbane celebrity chef Alison Taafe’s brilliant new cookbook Eat for Your Life has gone into reprint just months after the first print run.
This publication differs from your average cookbook; it has been written from the heart. The book was inspired by the love of her sister Laura, whose battle with breast cancer started an incredibly detailed line of research into using food as medicine. The sisters travelled to Mexico to visit a specialist cancer treatment centre, where the treatment involved an incredibly strict diet. This diet became the cornerstone of Eat for Your Life.
The good will doesn’t end there. Proceeds from book sales have already gone towards sending Brisbane woman, Cathy, to the same clinic in Mexico to help with her breast cancer treatment.
“The response from around Australia and overseas has been overwhelming. When Laura and I first told our story on television, my website nearly went into meltdown and we sold about 500 books overnight,” Alison said.
The book details the best foods to eat for a range of diseases, from cancer to multiple sclorosis to stress. It debunks food myths and is full of delicious, easy to follow recipes to help you take in the nutrients that are right for your body and your health.
Eat for Your Life is $30 and available from selected bookstores and online.
