Christmas might still be a few months off yet but it’s never too early to start planning edible architecture.
Until Friday 22 November the Gluten Free Grain Free Company is holding a Facebook competition to get people’s Christmas (foodie) spirit going.
“This will be Australia’s first gluten free, grain free gingerbread competition,” says Tania Hubbard, Gluten Free Grain Free Company co-founder. “It’s a great way for the free-from community to showcase how much fun and enjoyment everybody can have with food over the holiday season.”
Pepitas, ginger, coconut sugar and eggs are the only ingredients you’ll need for the gingerbread-house building competition, with the recipe based on the cinnamon & ginger cookie recipe from Hubbard’s gluten free grain free – food we love cookbook.
“Have fun and get creative, there are heaps of wonderful ways to decorate the house including homemade jellies, dried fruits, gingerbread trees and natural icings,” says Hubbard. “It doesn’t matter if you are a professional chef or new to the kitchen, this is a wonderful project everyone can get involved in.”
