Atmosphere, great food and two owners you might recognise at Shady Palms
If you’re not already familiar with Shady Palms in Stones Corner, you may recognise the owners – Mal and Bec of ‘My Kitchen Rules’ fame.
Since the limelight of TV, the couple has been busy opening venues and winning accolades. Starting with Lady Marmalade in the Fortitude Valley (which won the Qld Great Australia Sandwichship in 2012 for their Istanbul wrap, to name but one award!), the couple is going from strength to strength.
Setting up shop on Logan Rd, the trend-savvy Mal & Bec have shown that they understand what dining out in Brisbane is all about – the backyard, the easy-going food and plenty of space for a few mates. And as the name suggests, Shady Palms is a pretty relaxed venue.
The outdoor space is perfect for a Sunday afternoon, where you can enjoy a cocktail jug between friends, and while-away the afternoon sharing a ‘neo-tapas plate’. The menu is riding the popular trend of Mexican and Southern American-inspired food, dishing up po boys, tacos, and pulled pork, all with a good lashing of chimmichurri.
With a Tarrantino film playing, a beer in hand (it’s all about boutique beer & cider), and a fried jalapeno, you can guarantee a dining experience straight out of the South.
