South Bank favourite, Dell’Ugo has opened an exciting new Trattoria, described as a ‘rustic street food concept’

The new addition was designed with the intention of creating the feeling of casual, Italian-style dining. Dell’Ugo’s owner, Yannis Passaris hopes to create a ‘Little Italy Laneway’. The feeling should emulate a side alley feeling from the streets of Rome, with all the right smells and flavours to complete the experience.

The menu at Dell’Ugo encourages relaxed dining, with simple pastas (try trofie with spicy Calabrian salami) and risottos. For a lighter option, there is a daily Italian sandwich, and an antipasto board, featuring buffalo mozzarella and salumi.  To finish, the menu is rounded off nicely with a seriously good tiramisu and a vanilla bean pannacotta.

All meals are a no-fuss $18. This concept alone is as refreshing as the Aperol spritz that kicks off the aperitvo menu, followed by a selection of classic Campari-based drinks. Wine is available by the glass or by the carafe.

The Trattoria is open until late, making it a great venue for a light bite to eat and a glass of wine after seeing a show.
