Urbane has gone from strength to strength, winning awards and opening new doors

It has been a busy year for Urbane. Not only have they opened the doors of the new ‘Euro Garden’, a pop-up barbecue restaurant, but they have also achieved another year of awards and accolades!

Urbane is ranked as Queensland’s best restaurant, and twelfth nationally. The restaurant’s Andy Buchanan and Drew Patten have taken out the Maitres D’ of the Year prize in the Australian Gourmet Traveller Awards of 2014.

The fourth string to the Urbane, The Laneway Bar and The Euro bow is the Euro Garden.

If you find yourself in the city on Friday lunchtime, count yourself lucky. The Euro Garden is operates each Friday from 12pm to 3pm, and can be found tucked away in Spencer Lane off Mary Street. You’ll find head chef Alejandro Cancino whipping up fine concoctions involving Bangalow pork and Wagyu beef on the BBQ. The group Euro group describes the venue as “shabby chic Soho style meets New Orleans, where our guest gather for some ultra-tasty gourmet BBQ and casual Friday post work drinking.”

Cancino recently took out both the Best New Talent in the Australian Gourmet Traveller awards for 2013 and the Citibank Chef of the Year, so your barbecue lunch could not be in better hands.
