Padre Bar, a new addition to Woolloongabba which inhabits a gorgeous art deco shop that was once a draper, a tea room and most recently a Sri Lankan restaurant.

“Three Brisbane lads from Vespa Pizza and Downtown Honey co., have opened Woolloongabba’s latest little bar of tricks Padre Bar, a cool little spot on Stanley Street squeezed between two shopfronts.

The name ‘Padre’, Spanish for father, signifies the fact that all three men have become fathers in the last year. The Spanish theme continues with Estrella beer on tap, order whatever cocktail you like, or choose something from the book. Bar snacks only at the moment, but plans are in place to extend the menu.

The laid-back venue has plans to open a second level upstairs for live music, comedy nights and private functions.” Alice Lindley, Brisbane food blogger.
